The Bungendore Showground Trust has recently completed a number of major facility upgrade projects on the show grounds.
A primary focus of many of the projects has been on upgrading and improving existing facilities on the grounds. This has included:
- the main dining hall
- the brick toilet block
- the “old chook shed” – now an extended breezeway
- the original wooden floor pavilion
Works have also been completed on:
- an electrical upgrade – 30 new power outlets in the camping area and horse area
- portable cattle yards purchase
- hot water system upgrade
- internal road drainage and road improvement
- PA system upgrade
- boundary fencing along Mathews Lane
Much of this work has been made possible through grants and sponsorship, as well as fundraising by the Trust, primarily through the Bungendore B & S Committee. Grants and sponsorship in the order of $89,500 have been used from:
- The Queanbeyan & Palerang Region Council
- Peter Hendy Election Pledge
- Infigen Energy (via the Bungendore Show Committee)
- Bungendore Muster Committee
The Bungendore Show Ground Trust has contributed in excess of $65,000 to these major projects, through funds raised via the Bungendore Bachelor and Spinster Ball Committee, ground hire and casual camping and caravan site fees.
